Brief Bio

Over the years, I’ve been fascinated by the inability of  the people in my life, family, friends, people in general, and even myself, who had a burning desire for change (letting go of bad relationships, being more focused, motivated, letting go of bad habits etc.), but failed time and time again to make a permanent change. We had good intentions, took action to make the change, but more often than not, we went right back to a situation, habit, or behavior, we wanted to let go.

In the early 1990s I was a Real Estate agent and when the Real Estate Market imploded, I enrolled in the Hypnosis Motivation Institute in Tarzana CA and graduated as a clinical hypnotherapist.

I enjoy helping others to make powerful changes that will transform their lives.  I’ll coach and mentor you but if your mindset keeps you stuck, (for those who are receptive) hypnosis/hypnotherapy is one of many tools I use to help you master your mindset for your success.

If you believe your mindset creates your reality then you and I probably belong to the same soul group.

About this site

I have always been an extremely private person so the internet, the new frontier, was never on my radar. But I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone for new experiences and to help more people to master their mindset for their Adalia John1success.

Your mind is one of the most powerful tools you have for your success. However, if your conscious and subconscious desires are not on the same page, you’ll remain stuck or continually fall from your ladder of success.

Marketing my services as a hypnotherapist was done to attract local clients. I mention hypnosis briefly on my main blog at http://www.adaliaconfidenceansuccessblog.com.

In the past 2 ½ years, several local and long distance clients have found me through Google for hypnosis/hypnotherapy. A few weeks ago, I had an AHA moment, my blog at confidence is an inside job needs some re-structuring, so I decided to create a separate blog for hypnosis and http://www.hypnosistarzana.com was born.

I live in Tarzana a city in Southern California.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that about me

I’m the mom of four amazing adult children (all good citizens of the world), and grandmother to my adorable Jasmine. Of course I’m biased but if you want proof that they are indeed amazing and adorable, I will be happy to oblige.

My mother is my hero.

My children hate to take me to dinner because, more often than not, I will not enjoy the food.

My children have told me time and time again that I’m not funny. They could be right, I’m the only one laughing at my jokes.

I love entrepreneurship.

I am an observer.

People fascinate me.

I enjoy bold flavors and spicy foods.

Rice is my favorite food.

I drink a lot of water.

I enjoy walking. I look for reasons to walk … it’s my default transportation.

I became a certified hypnotherapist twenty years ago.

I was once a full time Real Estate agent.

I owned a catering business.

I owned a call center.

I am an ambivert who defaults to being an introvert … not to be confused with being shy. (don’t accept people’s label of who you are)

I discovered I had third stage cancer when a voice told me to touch my breast.

I was once a closet singer. I frequented the Karaoke circuit. I don’t know if this had anything to do with it but after chemo and radiation treatment, I became tone deaf. This baffles me. I miss singing.

I am a serious mystery buff: Michael Connelly, Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton, Janet Evanovich and Agatha Christie are few of my favorites. I have many more.

My favorite guilty pleasures are Ben and Jerry’s Crème Brule and mango cake from Red Ribbon Bake Shop in Southern California.

I was born on the island of Antigua.

Even though I was born on an island, I didn’t learn to swim until I was an adult.

I believe people should take responsibility for their decisions, actions and results.

I am a motivational quotes junkie.

I enjoy creating positive affirmations

My career fantasies: lawyer, performer/singer, and being a detective.

I enjoy interpreting dreams.

My taste in music is eclectic. I enjoy music even if I don’t understand the language.

I HATE being cold. Anything below 70 degrees is cold.

Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies.

I enjoy watching old black and white movies.

I completed 14 miles of the Los Angeles Marathon 2007. That was my goal.

I completed the Los Angeles Marathon 2009.

One of my favorite things to do is helping others to shift their thinking. It’s second nature.  I’ve done it for free more than I’ve been paid for it.

I am still perfecting my potential.
